The global travel technology group strengthens its presence in the German market and enhances its automation capabilities with its latest acquisition.

Travelsoft, a leader in travel technology software (SaaS), has announced the successful acquisition of proQuest Computersysteme GmbH, the German developer behind the advanced flight fulfillment system, airQuest. This strategic move is designed to bolster Travelsoft’s air technology stack, bringing industrial-grade automation to its global platform.

Enhancing Flight Operations

airQuest is widely recognized for its ability to manage high-volume scheduled air sales. By integrating this technology, Travelsoft aims to streamline critical back-office functions for its clients. The platform specializes in automating complex processes, including:

  • Ticket issuance and rebooking.
  • Schedule changes and cancellations.
  • Payment workflows and financial reconciliation.
  • Fare maintenance (including net, negotiated, and low-cost fares).

This integration promises to reduce manual workload for tour operators and travel agencies, allowing for greater efficiency and reliability in handling air travel logistics.

Strategic Expansion in Germany

The acquisition marks a significant step in Travelsoft’s expansion within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). airQuest complements Travelsoft’s existing portfolio, which already includes Traffics (a leading reservation system for German travel agencies) and Atcore (which powers major tour operators).

Christian Sabbagh, Founder and CEO of Travelsoft, highlighted the importance of the deal:

“By joining forces, we significantly strengthen our air technology stack and deepen our presence in Germany, one of Europe’s most strategic travel markets. This acquisition is a natural step in our ambition to build the reference global platform for travel technology.”

Continuity and Leadership

Travelsoft has confirmed that Ulrich Sambeth, the founder and CEO of proQuest, will continue to lead the airQuest team. The company will operate with its existing management structure to ensure continuity for current clients while progressively connecting its technology to the wider Travelsoft ecosystem.

“Joining Travelsoft allows us to accelerate our product vision and benefit from a global technology ecosystem,” said Sambeth. “We will continue to operate with the same commitment to quality and reliability, now with the scale and investment capacity of Travelsoft behind us.”

A Year of Rapid Growth

This acquisition caps a period of aggressive growth for Travelsoft, following the addition of several other major tech players to its group in 2025. With a portfolio that now spans the entire travel value chain—from sourcing and booking to fulfillment and settlement—Travelsoft continues to solidify its position as a dominant force in global travel technology.
